At OC&C, you have the opportunity to complete an 8-12 week internship and gain realistic insight into the world of management consulting. After spending a week familiarizing yourself with the consulting toolkit, you will be assigned to a real project. You will actively support our team in providing strategic advice to our clients. The project can be in any of our areas of activity, giving you insights into different strategic issues and challenges.
The only requirements are that you are in your final year of a bachelor’s degree, are studying for a master’s degree, or have already completed your studies, and are business fluent in German and English.
Associate Consultant
Start your career at OC&C as a graduate and become an Associate Consultant straight away – including immediate assignment to a project team. Our teams are deliberately small – significantly smaller than the industry average – so you can make a real impact right from the start. You could work in any sector and take on a variety of challenges: promoting growth, advising on mergers and acquisitions, developing corporate strategies, or planning comprehensive organizational changes. You will work directly with colleagues and clients at all levels: brainstorming, discussing analyses, making recommendations, and building relationships.
Our projects are typically short-term, so you will quickly gain experience in a variety of challenges and sectors. At OC&C, insight and creativity are more important than seniority – meritocracy is not just a word, it’s how we work.
As an Associate Consultant, you will take on the responsible task of effectively structuring data and supplementing it with insights from primary and secondary research. You will often be the team member with the best overview of the relevant information and markets. This will enable you to provide valuable insights that advance problem solving.
Start your career at OC&C as an MBA or PhD graduate and contribute your strategic acumen and analytical skills to a wide range of projects. As a member of a project team, you will help solve some of our clients‘ most important problems and gain insights into their top-level management teams.
With an MBA or PhD degree, you have the opportunity to join us directly as a Senior Associate Consultant or even as a Consultant. After approximately 6–12 months, a calibration will take place to determine your final level. This means you have the chance to start at a higher career level right from the start.
Consultant
Our consultants start out either as successfully promoted associate consultants, MBA graduates, or experienced employees with several years of experience in strategy consulting or another industry.
As a consultant, you will take responsibility for important aspects of projects and make a decisive contribution to the outcome. Within the OC&C team, you will support the manager and act as a coach for younger colleagues.
As a consultant, you will support and guide the team to implementable solutions, identify concerns early on and address them, while building relationships with colleagues and clients.
Manager
If you perform well as a consultant or join us as an experienced employee with the relevant background and skills, you can take on the role of manager. In this phase, you will work closely with a preferred sector. You will be at the heart of the company, leading projects and being responsible for the teams that implement them.
As a day-to-day client leader, it is important to build strong and professional client relationships. It is crucial that clients see you as a trusted advisor and thought leader in their sector.
At the same time, OC&C partners will trust you as an expert in project delivery and seek your full support in pursuing their commercial goals. Your team members will look to you as their primary source of professional and personal guidance.
Doctoral students can apply for the advertised position as a consultant with us.
We hire people at all stages of their careers. The entry level depends on your individual experience and skills.
MBA graduates start at the consultant level, as they usually already have the relevant professional experience and expertise that recent college graduates still need to acquire.
You can reapply when the position is advertised again after one year.
