Internship as Visiting Associate
As a visiting associate, you will take on all the tasks of a consultant. As part of an internship of at least 12 weeks, you will be deployed like an Associate and will be a fully-fledged part of a project team. You will support the team in carrying out analyses and research, take responsibility for individual work packages and develop new solutions with the team. Whenever possible, you will experience our day-to-day work in direct contact with our clients on site. And because we are convinced that you will quickly make a real contribution to value, we will also remunerate your work attractively.
During your studies, in addition to an internship, you also have the opportunity to start working for us as a working student.
Mit Bachelor-Abschluss als Junior Associate
As a junior associate, you will be part of our project teams from day one and work like an associate. However, you will have more experienced consultants at your side. Unlike associates, your work will initially be limited in time: after two years, we will encourage you to complete your education with a master's degree. Of course, we will support you in this – because we want you to return to us with your newly acquired experience.
With a master's degree or doctorate as an associate
Associate is the ‘typical’ entry-level position at undconsorten. Together with experienced colleagues, you will drive client projects forward right from the start. You will conduct independent research, conduct interviews, structure and analyse data, develop solutions for our clients' challenges together with the team, and prepare these for decision-making. You will assist in the preparation and implementation of workshops and, over time, take on more and more responsibility for entire work packages, which you will also represent to clients. In addition, you can accompany new associates as a buddy during their induction. Depending on your learning curve, you can expect to be promoted to Senior Associate after 1–2 years. Experience has shown that your colleagues in the project teams and our development programme ensure that this step is a success.
Mit einem MBA- oder PhD-Abschluss steigst Du typischerweise als Associate bei undconsorten ein. Zusammen mit erfahrenen Kolleg:innen treibst Du von Anfang an Klientenprojekte voran. Du recherchierst selbstständig, führst Interviews, strukturierst und analysierst Daten, entwickelst mit dem Team Lösungen für die Herausforderungen unserer Klienten und bereitest diese für die Entscheidungsfindung auf. Du hilfst bei der Vorbereitung und Durchführung von Workshops und übernimmst im Laufe der Zeit mehr und mehr Verantwortung für gesamte Arbeitspakete, die Du auch Klienten gegenüber vertrittst. Außerdem kannst Du als Buddy nachfolgende Consorten beim Einstieg begleiten. Je nach Lernkurve steht dann die Beförderung zum/r Senior Associate an. Deine Kolleg:innen in den Projektteams und unser Entwicklungsangebot sorgen erfahrungsgemäß dafür, dass dieser Schritt gelingt.
Mit 2–3 Jahren Berufserfahrung als Senior Associate
With 2–3 years of relevant professional experience, you will typically join us as a Senior Associate. Ideally, you will have consulting experience or consulting-related experience in industry, e.g. in the areas of strategy or business development. For the first 3–6 months, you will work in a similar capacity to an Associate and familiarise yourself with our consulting approach and areas of expertise. Gradually, you will take on more responsibility for your own work streams and smaller projects. Given the dynamic development of undconsorten, there are also opportunities to actively contribute to the further development of the company at any time.
With over 3 years of professional experience as a Project Manager or Associate Principal
With more than three years of experience in top management consulting, you have the opportunity to apply to join us as a Project Manager or Associate Principal. In addition to the operational management of several challenging projects, your responsibilities will include the personal and professional development of our consultants and the further expansion of our company. You will initially be assigned to projects and topics where you can fully leverage your strengths and existing client relationships. During this time, you will receive support from a senior ‘buddy’ who will help you get started with us.

Grundsätzlich wirst Du mehrere Projekte gleichzeitig betreuen.
Wir können Deinen Einsatzplan individuell gestalten. In der Regel zeichnet sich recht bald ein gewisser Turnus ab. Somit kannst Du Deine Zeit planen und wir besser überschauen, welche Aufgaben von welcher/m Werkstudierenden am sinnvollsten übernommen werden.

Für eine erfolgreiche Neubewerbung solltest Du seit der Absage mehr Praxiserfahrung gesammelt haben und/oder weitere Studienleistungen vorweisen können. Eine sichtbare persönliche Weiterentwicklung tritt erfahrungsgemäß frühestens ab einem Zeitraum von 12 bis 18 Monaten ein.
Selbstverständlich. Wir suchen Talente aller Fachrichtungen. Um unsere Klienten auf fachlich hohem Niveau beraten zu können, ist uns eine Mischung verschiedener akademischer Hintergründe und Perspektiven wichtig. Bereits im Interviewprozess wird der Hintergrund der Bewerber:innen berücksichtigt, sodass Dir hier kein Nachteil entsteht.
Wenn Du eine Zusage von uns bekommen hast und bei uns anfängst, bekommst Du zur Vorbereitung 3 Bücher zugeschickt, in denen Du stöbern kannst. So fällt Dir der Einstieg hoffentlich leichter.
Bei undconsorten nutzen wir das Interviewer-led Case Format. Hier werden Dir also gezielt Fragen gestellt und auch die Zeit festgelegt, die Du zur Analyse und Beantwortung der Fragen hast. Im Internet findest Du viele Übungsaufgaben und Beispiele.
Interviews sind der Kern unserer regelmäßig stattfindenden Recruitingtage. Durch sie möchten wir so viel wie möglich über Dich erfahren. Dabei geht es uns nicht nur um die Einschätzung Deiner Fähigkeiten. Wir wollen gemeinsam herausfinden, ob Du auch als Person in unser Team passt. Natürlich hast auch Du Fragen, die wir gerne beantworten.
Each interview lasts around 60 minutes. You can expect typical challenges from everyday consulting work. The focus is on so-called "cases" or case studies with practical questions. We are not looking for the "one right answer". We are looking for plausible approaches that show us whether you are able to structure complex problems and solve them in a logically convincing way.
