Arne Birkner hat ZEQ über ein Praktikum kennengelernt. Nach seinem Masterabschluss in Health Economics and Health Care Management startete er als Consultant durch. Mittlerweile ist er Senior Consultant und verantwortet eigene Projekte, vor allem im Bereich der Wirtschaftlichkeitsberatung. Darüber hinaus schult er Krankenhausmitarbeitende in den Bereichen Gesundheitsökonomie, Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Qualitätsmanagement.

I got to know ZEQ as part of an internship during my studies. My impression of the modern working environment and the professional and collegial strength of the team was very positive. At the end of my studies, I therefore made the conscious decision to start my career at the Mannheim-based management consultancy.
As a health economist, I am attracted by the tension between quality and profitability. Hospitals are particularly exposed to this area of tension. The effects of social trends, medical-technical progress and political aspirations further intensify this situation. Hospitals often lack not only the expertise but also the human resources to position themselves for the future in the face of future market opportunities and challenges in addition to their central care function. As a consultant at ZEQ, I have the opportunity to support hospitals in this challenge and actively help shape their strategic orientation, organization and processes. In the end, we can not only promote patient and employee well-being, but also realize profitability and efficiency gains for hospitals and the healthcare system.
As a consultant, I support a wide range of strategy, efficiency and process consulting projects in clinics at all levels of care. My tasks also include training management staff in the areas of business administration in the healthcare sector, health economics and quality management.
By taking on responsibility at an early stage and being directly involved in customer communication, I develop a steep learning curve. This promotes professional development right from the start. When I joined the company, I was assigned an employee partner. This person is my personal contact and supports me in planning and implementing my professional development steps. Flat hierarchies are one of ZEQ's key strengths, which I particularly appreciate. They enable an open and respectful culture of communication and an unprejudiced exchange of views on the various problems faced by our clients. The different perspectives and experiences that come together due to the interdisciplinary nature of the team are not only an advantage for our clients, but also strengthen the personal and professional development of each consultant.
