At Horn & Company, we are experienced top management consultants and recognized partners of decision-makers in the financial services sector, as well as in retail and the industry. We have a clear opinion on the current opportunities and challenges facing our clients, we contribute our own ideas and impulses and shape the future together with our clients. Our joint success is based on our broad network in the sectors we advise.
Our more than 250 consultants stand for the best realizable solution. Our optimization programmes do not only work in PowerPoint, but also in practice: we provide our clients with a reliable orientation based on data and facts, support decision-making processes through professional project and stakeholder management and, as a result, deliver a practical and functioning programme. We reliably translate strategies and objectives into concrete measures and activities and want to be able to measure the results of any optimization programme in euros. This is how we create sustainable change: tangible competitive advantages, differentiating USP and P&L-relevant improvement in results.
Our clients and our employees consciously choose this differentiated consulting approach: Horn & Company is the partner for trend-setting issues that creates accepted and effective solutions and delivers a measurable return on consulting through excellence, empathy and a contemporary understanding of consulting, as well as through tangible seniority and experience on site. This has both an internal and external impact. We follow our purpose: together we grow.
You can join Horn & Company in various ways – depending on where you are in your professional life. We continuously offer exciting entry opportunities. Interested? Then see what suits you best.
Internship as a “Fellow”
During a three- to six-month internship at Horn & Company at our headquarters in Düsseldorf, you will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive insight into everyday consulting work. As a “Fellow,” you will be involved in a client project as a full team member right from the start. Together with the project team, you will work on strategic, organizational, and procedural issues for our clients‘ top management.
But the social aspect is not neglected either: regular fellow get-togethers give you plenty of opportunity to exchange ideas with other fellows.
If you have already completed your bachelor’s degree at the start of your internship or are currently completing a master’s degree – ideally in economics or natural sciences – we look forward to receiving your application for an internship.

Master’s graduates – starting as an associate
You will start your career at Horn & Company as an associate. You will benefit from a highly professional environment with excellently trained colleagues. Learning on the job is particularly important at Horn & Company. A high level of seniority in the team and the joint, constant struggle to find the best customer solution lead to an exceptional learning curve right from the start. Our partners work operationally with the team and continuously convey how customers and decision-makers act, look at challenges and solutions, and which approaches lead to results. This is how you develop from a top talent to a top management consultant.
From day one, a mentor acts as your “career coach” and guides your development, because we understand that helping our consultants reach their full potential is key to our success. Feedback focuses on development. Our assessment tools are not based on grading systems, but on development stages that express how you can optimally develop your potential to reach the next career step – and how our managers can support you in this.
Your career path is accompanied by a tailor-made training program that optimally supports your personal and professional development.
Our consultants are characterized by a deep professional foundation. We therefore offer a wide range of entry opportunities for experienced professionals.
The majority of colleagues who join us already have relevant experience in consulting or have relevant expertise from the industry. As part of our selection process, we discuss the right career level for you so that you can continue your career path at Horn & Company in the best possible way.

Our mentoring programme promotes your individual career development. From day one, a mentor will support you with advice and assistance in your personal development, even beyond the project work, and will always be there to listen to you.
An essential part of the mentoring is the joint reflection of your feedback after project completion. Your mentor will categorise the feedback together with you and support you in developing perspectives for your professional and personal development.
Regular Consultant Days with all employees as well as regular team events at our locations promote mutual exchange. At least once a quarter, we meet with all colleagues to discuss company development, strategic issues, the project landscape and future topics and to inspire each other. Sports, culture, sightseeing and joint evenings are also part of the agenda for these events. Our local events particularly promote an informal exchange of ideas at our various locations – families are also regularly invited.
For us, interdisciplinary team and management structures characterized by diversity and diverse perspectives have long been standard practice. Different perspectives and backgrounds of experience help find the right solution. We respect each employee as an individual and at the same time invite them to be part of our company. In order to expand the diversity of our teams, we create a work environment that promotes open, respectful and constructive dialogue and takes into account the different realities of people’s lives.
We promote our consultants‘ professional and personal development through customized training courses along the career levels. There are training courses covering a wide range of topics, including, for example, effective communication or tools that are relevant for working on a particular project. Wherever possible, our training courses take place on site, as the mutual exchange of ideas is an important part of personal and professional development. You can also contribute to the company’s development and at the same time develop your own ideas in one of our internal competence centres in addition to the project work
We recommend applying eight to twelve weeks before your desired start date. Of course, you are welcome to apply earlier – and even if it is less lead time, we will manage.
Consulting is first and foremost a „people business“: open-minded and communicative personalities who take mutual responsibility for each other and recognize diversity as a strength will find the best client solution together. Our consultants are known for their analytical way of thinking, sound technical expertise and a healthy degree of assertiveness and endurance.
Our charming offices are located in great hotspots in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Vienna and Zurich. Whether and for how long we are on a client’s premises as part of the projects depends on the individual requirements of each client and project. On average, we are at the client’s offices two to three days a week – you have the flexibility to work the remaining days either remotely or in one of our offices. As we value an intensive dialogue with each other, regular meetings take place as for example in the context of our Consultant Days, a site-wide event or in the project team.
